Do you guys want McDonagh? If so, what would you be willing to offer? Just curious from a fan’s standpoint |

He’d be a decent pick up for Tampa. Definitely better than mike green but I don’t see Tampa giving up anything off of the current roster for him. Maybe a package of picks and prospects |

McD is still a beast. If/when you guys can get him for this year and next, you'll be happy. I don't watch a lot of Rangers games anymore outside of the playoffs, but the past few years he has suffered from a brutal supporting staff on D and they still rely on him to just shut down opponents top guys, which he does.
I think he'd thrive in Tampa and be able to contribute more offensively than he was allowed in NY.
Karlsson is leaps and bounds a better player, but i don't think Tampa needs him, as odd as that may sound. |

Mac would be great in TB. He is quietly very very good. Not flashy at all. Wonder what we could pry out of Tampa |

Mac is pretty durable for the ice time and hard years he’s played |

Probably mostly picks and prospects. Might be able to get someone like Slater Koekkoek. |

Your statement about Gerardi not being the problem does not hold water because Mac was stuck with Holden this year---How good was Mac when Gerardi was healty? Put him with a good partner and you will see how good he is. The Rags should keep him unless their demands are met---don't just give him away |

I’d give up Johnson, Koekkoek and a pick type of package. Not saying those three but some combination. Johnson isn’t great and we need that $5m for Vasey and Kuch plus at this point he is a 3rd line center. |

Koekkoek, Callahan, a prospect, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick for Ryan and Karlsson. (then flip Ryan to a floor team or keep him if somebody retains part of his salary).
A 1st, a 3rd, and a prospect for McDonagh.
Nothing above a 2nd for Green.

Sustr for a six pack of wine coolers. Any takers?

Its a shame. Dion Phaneuf would have been perfect for us. We need a shut down guy back there with veteran leadership and toughness. This team sorely lacks size and toughness. A key ingredient when playoff time comes. As it is right now we are probably Eastern Conference contenders but SC? No. |

we should stay away from Karlson. We do not need more ofence, what we need is the (D) who can block shots, who is goog on PK. And can shot down the top lines players.I think Hjarmarsson would fit perfectly. |

I dont think Ryan will be part of a deal. Just makes everything more complicated. And he drags down the value of the prospects thats going back. Cally has a NMC, and he sure as poop wont waive it for Ottawa right now.
1st, Foote, Katchouk, Koekkoek for Karlsson. Thats about as high as Id like them to go.
Otherwise 1st, Katchouk and Peca for McDonagh. |

Dion has great heart, but he's a holdover from an obsolete era of hockey. He's a pylon. No foot speed. Guys like Point would leave him in the dust with two strides. I like Dion, but a slow-moving totem pole is the last thing we need. We already have great size on defense, where we really need size is amongst our forwards.

I just don't value McDonagh that highly. Sure, he's an upgrade over anyone not named Hedman or Stralman, but I wouldn't get into a bidding war for him. A first rounder is a given, but not sure how much more I would give beyond that.

McDonagh > Stralman
Problem with McDonagh is he shoots left. We really should look at a right handed D |

McDonagh to Tampa is done. Supposedly. Wait and see what the cost was....
If true, I like the move if the cost is not too high.

Sucks to lose Howden, but we are deep at C. Hajek will never be a top2 defender and Namestikov is a acceptable loss. Wouldnt be able to resign next year anyway.
But Miller is a good ad and with McDonaugh we have a great top4. He can be re-signed as Stralmans replacement in a couple of years.
Like this deal, it makes more sense then to sell off for Karlsson. Let win the cup |

This was a great deal, protected our weak areas in our depth which is Wing and RD by keeping Raddysh, Kouchouk, Foote. Bolts already deep at Center depth with Mitchell Stephens and Anthony Cirelli, Peca in the Cuse. Softens blow on losing Howden and Hajek is a LD and we have Masin there.
Now what to do with 9 Dman. Does Sustr go to waivers. Should be interesting. |
